“Okay so who on earth are you anyway?”
Just a neighbor. A neighbor who got sick and tired of walking past litter and graffiti in my neighborhood. It pissed me off enough one day to snatch a grabber out of my garage and fill my trash bags with litter. With that great feeling of looking at a section of ground you’ve just weeded, I left my street and worked my way up Washington.
It wasn’t long before I stopped in the sun, sweat dripping off my nose which was inches from my phone as I looked for a quick, easy way to report graffiti. It wasn’t hard to find–an app from the County of Riverside does just that. You can even send a picture with your report! I’m going to be honest with you–it felt incredible to be able to do something.
It was at this point I realized this job was very simple, but too much for one person. I also realize everyone is busy making ends meet and building strong families. I get it–every time I felt angry about the litter and graffiti, it wasn’t long before it was pushed out of my mind by pressing business. But I also know now how simple and rewarding taking ownership of your neighborhood can be.
“Sounds great for you, but some of us work for a living.”
That’s why I’ve made getting started simple and accessible. I’m not going to do everything for you, but I can at least help give you the push to get started. I’ve looked up and tested the most simple and effective ways for you to get the tools you need to clean up your neighborhood. That’s it. That’s all this website is for–me doing the legwork to make it easier for you to get out there and improve your little slice of Woodcrest.
